Researchers have found a modest link between levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D (vitamin D) and sex hormones in men and women aged 45 to 84. Lower levels of vitamin D were associated with lower levels of sex-hormone–binding globulin (SHBG) and higher levels of free testosterone in men and women and lower levels of estradiol and higher levels of dehydroepandrosterone (DHEA) in women. Further studies are needed to determine whether treating vitamin D deficiency can improve the low testosterone state.

Thanks for addressing the relationship that existed between the sex hormone and vitamin-d. The secretion of sex hormones reduces due to aging which makes the life of a person miserable. Sex hormones not only plays a critical role in the sexual health of a person but also helps to improve muscle mass and bone density. More research is necessary to deal with such hormonal imbalance and aging.
